Wedding weekend at Town Head Estate! We headed back to Town Head Estate for a wedding weekend for Louise & Christopher. This was very exciting for us as it was the first time our new food truck was serving food right next to Lake Windermere by The Boathouse, and it worked perfectly.

Timings of the day – Saturday

12pm – Ceremony

1pm – Welcome drinks & canapés

3pm – Guests seated

3:30pm – Speeches

4pm – Wedding breakfast

7pm – Cut the cake

7:15pm – First dance

9pm – Evening food

After the ceremony, it was time to serve the bride and groom and all of the guests with the canapés. They included

  • Mozzarella & Pesto Arancini
  • Pear, Prosciutto & Rocket Rolls
  • Smoked Chicken, Apple & Tarragon Crostini
  • Mini Tarte Tatin with Caramelised Red Onion & Goats Cheese
  • Prawns on The Lawn

The guests were then seated and the speeches were carried out before the wedding breakfast was served. The couple opted for a sharing style starter, carve your own beef main course, and a plated trio of desserts.

Starter – Lakeland Sharing Platter

  • Cumberland Sausage, Morecambe Bay Potted Shrimps, Black Pudding Scotch Eggs, Cartmel Valley Smoked Salmon, Goats Cheese Croquettes with Chilli Jam, Waberthwaite Air Dried Ham, Melon & Figs
  • OR Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Terrine with Chutney & Garnish
  • Baskets of Home-Made Breads & Butter

Main Course – Carve Your Own Beef

  • Joints of Beef for each table served with dishes of Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire Puddings & Seasonal Vegetables
  • Jugs of Gravy
  • One person from each table selected as the ‘Top Carver’
  • OR Asparagus & Pea Risotto with Shaved Parmesan & Garnish
  • OR Vegan Wellington with a Chasseur Sauce

Dessert – Trio of Desserts

  • Mini Sticky Toffee Pudding, Mini Lemon Tart with Raspberry Sorbet & Mini Summer Berry Pavlova

At 9pm, we served everyone with the evening food.

  • 3-Tiered Higginsons Pork Pie Stack
  • 4-Tiered Cheese Wedding Cake to include Lancashire Cheese, Brie, Smoked Cheddar & Wensleydale with Cranberries
  • Selection of Biscuits
  • Home-Made Chutney
  • Chicken Liver Pate
  • Crusty Bread & Butter
  • Grapes, Celery & Figs


We returned on the Sunday along with our new food truck and providing pizzas down by The Boathouse by Lake Windermere

  • Breakfast Pizza – Cumberland sausage, Bacon, Black Pudding & Mushroom
  • Pepperoni Pizza
  • Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil Pizza
  • Cajun Chicken, Pepper & Onion Pizza
  • Spinach, Goats Cheese & Caramelised Onion Pizza
