Freya and Charlie

Well, what can we say. Freya and Charlie you know how to throw a party!!

Last weekend we had the absolute pleasure of catering for Freya and Charlie in a marquee over looking Bassenthwaite Lake!

Timings for the Day:

1.00pm Ceremony at Bassenthwaite Church
2.15pm Drinks Reception & Canapes
4pm Father of the Bride Speech
4.30pm Wedding Breakfast
6pm Groom & Best Man Speech
7.00pm Evening Guests
8.30pm Evening Food

We started out the day with Drinks and Canapes in the stunning Reception Marquee! Whilst Pimms, Prosecco and Beer was handed out we started with Canapes!

Freya and Charlie chose lots of canapes instead of a starter – which is a fantastic idea!

~ Mini Yorkshire Puddings with Pink Roast Beef
~ Seared Tuna with Sesame Seeds and Soy Sauce
~ Blinis with Creme Fraiche and Smoked Salmon
~ Calamari with Aioli
~ Honeyed Sausages
~ Prawns on the Lawn – Toasted Sourdough with Avocado, Chilli and Coriander
~ Spinach & Feta Filo Parcels
~ Caramelised Onion & Goats Cheese Tarte Tatin
~ Mini Hamburgers with Tomato Relish

After Drinks and canapes finished it was time for all the guests to make their way into the marquee ready for the first speech of the day – The Father of the Bride!

Once all the guests were seated the best Man announced in the Bridesmaids, the Ushers and finally the Bride and Groom and everyone had a dance to welcome them in!

After the first speech it was time for the Wedding Breakfast!
Freya and Charlie chose a sharing main course which is one of our favourites!

Boards of:

~ Harissa Chicken topped with homegrown vine cherry tomatoes, red onion, fresh green and red chilli and fresh coriander

~ Sea Bream with Olives, Cherry Tomato, White Wine & Lemon Juice

~ Aubergine Parmigiana

Dishes of:
– Roasted New Potatoes in Garlic & Olive Oil
– Tomato & Pomegranate Salad
– Sweet Potato, Fig, Feta & Chilli Salad
– Char Grilled Roasted Mediterranean Vegetables
– Dishes of Tzatziki & Salsa Verde
– Baskets of Warm Flatbread


Freya and Charlie both wanted their favourite dessert and couldn’t decide on one so we alternated desserts between guests!

– Sticky Toffee Pudding with Toffee Sauce & English Lakes Ice Cream

– Eton Mess

Once the meal was finished it was time for the band to start and the dancing to begin! Once evening guests arrived it was time for evening food – Pizza and Fish & Chips

After evening food it was time for our team to leave and let Freya and Charlie enjoy the rest of their day!
