the order of the day


Laura & Rossa had their special wedding weekend at the beautiful wedding venue Longlands in Cartmel.

On the Friday evening at 7pm we catered a pre wedding BBQ for 35 guests who were staying on site at the venue for the weekend. It included

  • Higginson’s Fell Bred Beef Burgers
  • Cumberland Sausage
  • Chicken Kebabs
  • Veggie Burgers
  • Coleslaw
  • Mixed Leaves with Vinaigrette Dressing
  • Buttered New Potatoes
  • Burger Buns
  • Cheese, Ketchup, Mustard & Mayo


Timings for the day (Saturday)

11:30am – Ceremony

12pm – Welcome drinks & canapés

1:30pm – Guests seated & speeches

2pm – Wedding breakfast

7:15pm – Cut the cake

7:30pm – First dance

8:30pm – Evening food

Midnight – Bar to close & wedding comes to an end

At 12pm once the bride & groom & guests left the ceremony we served welcome drinks of Prosecco, Bottled Beers, Pimms, Variety of Fentimans, J20’s & Ginger Ales. We also served canapes which included

  • Crostini with Mozzarella, Sun Blush Tomato & Basil Pesto
  • Honey & Mustard Sausages
  • Blinis with Creme Fraiche & Smoked Salmon
  • Peking Duck Pancakes with Plum Sauce
  • Mini Tarte Tatin, Caramelised Red Onion & Goats Cheese
  • Chilli & Garlic King Prawns
  • Mini Tarte Tatin with Caramelised Red Onion
  • Crostini with Sun Blush Tomato & Basil Pesto

The guests were seated at 1:30pm and the father of the bride and then the bride and groom did their speeches before the starter Lakeland sharing platter which included

  • Cumberland Sausage Rings
  • Cartmel Valley Smoked Salmon
  • Black Pudding Scotch Eggs
  • Holker Game Pate with Onion Marmalade
  • Goats Cheese Croquettes
  • Waberthwaite Air Dried Ham & Melon
  • Baskets of Home-Made Breads & Plates of Butter
  • Twice Baked Cheese Soufflé’s with Champagne Cream Sauce
  • Seared Polenta with a Shaved Fennel Salad served with Tomato Relish & Rocket (Vegan)

Main Course

  • Roast Topside of Beef with Roasted Vegetable Wellington with a Chasseur Sauce
  • Roast Potatoes
  • XL Yorkshire Puddings
  • Summer Vegetables
  • Jugs of Gravy


  • Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding with Toffee Sauce served with English Lakes Double Jersey Ice Cream
  • Vegan Lemon Cheesecake served with Lemon Sorbet
  • Tea, Coffee & Home-Made Fudge

The best man speech was after the dessert to let guests relax after their 3-course wedding breakfast


At 8:30pm we served pizzas for evening food

  • Buffalo Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil Pizza
  • Pepperoni Pizza
  • Cajun Chicken, Red Pepper, Red Chillies & Red Onion Pizza
  • Newspaper Cones of Chips for Band
