Sally and Philip

Sally and Philip chose Town Head Estate to celebrate a 2 day wedding at the end of June. They had Laura Fagan from Flaura Flowers to create the most amazing flower arch and bouquets but the star of the show was Philips pocket flowers. They were lucky enough for the rain to hold off and got a beautiful sunset at the end of the day too!

The flower garden was in full bloom creating a beautiful quiet backdrop for Sally and Philip to get some stunning pictures with Kirsty Mattsson who captured the blissful moment perfectly.

They chose a fantastic selection of Canapés for their guests to enjoy for an hour and half. This is a great amount of time for cocktails and canapés, everyone can catch up and the bride and groom can sneak away for some beautiful couple portraits.

The canapés were…

Mini Tarte Tatin with Caramelised Red Onion and Goat’s Cheese
Croque Monsieur
Blinis with Crème Fraiche and smoked Salmon
Beetroot and Whipped Goats Cheese Tartlets
Cumbrian Hot Dogs with Crispy Onions
Honeyed Sausages
Fillet of Aberdeen Angus Beef with Caramelised Onion and Hoisin Sauce

At 4pm it was time to call the guest up to the wedding breakfast … but first speeches! Sally and Phil did a welcome speech for all their guests before they could dig into their 3 course meal. It is a beautiful thing to break tradition and hear from the bride too. The staff at Town Head also moved the flower arch from the ceremony to behind their seats which is a beautiful way to frame the bride and groom during the meal.

Sally and Philip decided to have a break between their mains and desserts and host a game of BINGO! This was a huge hit with their guests.

Timings are really important for us in the kitchen, if you were to have a hot dessert we would advise not having a break. We don’t want you to wait too long for the dessert to be ready and we also don’t want to start warming the dessert too early. We would prefer you having a perfect dessert and entertain your guests after we have cleared the tables creating more space and no time pressure from us.

After the meal the guests made their way downstairs so the Town Head staff and ourselves could clear the room and make space for the DJ Simon Vogt to get set up for the evening party!

Sally and Philip really like to treat their guests to food! After the first dance and couple of hours dancing they had Pizzas from our Vintage Trailer and Dirty fries from the kitchen!

We love to mix up the evening food! It caters for everyone and they get to have verity of foods, flavours and textures.

Don’t forget I said it was a 2 day celebration! After the most amazing wedding day Sally and Philip wanted to continue the high with a BBQ Lunch the following day. Town Head is situated right on Windermere lake and with a short walk down the hill you get to their boat house. It is quiet and secluded with picturesque scenery. What better place to host a post wedding BBQ!

We love serving a BBQ both the day before the wedding to help everyone come together and ease some nerves or the day after so everyone can share their wedding stories from the day before!
